You may have already heard that it’s best to put a cashmere sweater in the freezer overnight instead of washing it to kill bacteria and prevent unpleasant odors.
But did you know that there are many things that would benefit from being stored in the refrigerator?
Skin care cosmetics
First of all, we are talking about creams, masks and other products without preservatives – many women like them, but they have a significant drawback – nothing prevents the growth of bacteria. Do you want to prevent this? Put tubes and bottles in the refrigerator to extend the shelf life of cosmetics.
It’s also best to store products containing retinol or vitamin C in a cool place: low temperatures help these ingredients remain stable. And finally, you need to leave the eye cream in the refrigerator door – this will help it cope with swelling.
Decorative cosmetics
As cleaning company owner Gretchen Boyd explains, cream- or water-based cosmetics are particularly susceptible to bacterial growth, oxidation and discoloration. Boyd also recommends trying chilled eyeliner: she says you’ll get a much sharper, cleaner line. But lipstick, like other products containing oils, should not be stored in the refrigerator: it could separate.

Flowers
Do you want to buy a bouquet for the teacher a few days before September 1st and keep it cool? We fully support this decision – there is no need to pay several times more than usual for flowers. So buy chrysanthemums, asters or roses and put them in the refrigerator – this will slow down the metabolic processes occurring in plants and allow you to wait for the desired date.
Aloe
Aloe has bactericidal and anti-inflammatory properties, it helps heal wounds, moisturizes and nourishes the skin of the face and body. It’s great if you already have this plant at home, but what if you only manage to get a few of its leaves? To preserve the benefits of aloe, nutritionist Erin James recommends storing it in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
film
If you prefer to use film cameras, store them in the refrigerator: for example, Polaroid recommends storing their product at a temperature of 4 to 18°C.
