Artificial intelligence becomes an ally in the fight against breast and cervical cancer

The company bets on artificial intelligence for medical screening via WhatsApp for the early detection of breast and cervical cancer

In the month in which the world turns pink to raise awareness of the importance of breast cancer prevention, Vitta, a health plan broker and Digital Hospital member of the Stone Co Group, presents something new: Vittoria. This new product is a bot, developed with Artificial Intelligence, to perform risk classification with patients through questions that address family, behavioral and health history.

“Vittoria is an AI-powered WhatsApp bot that performs a personalized risk assessment in just 5 minutes. By asking a series of questions, the intelligence classifies your genetic and behavioral risk of developing colon and breast cancer. Once the risk is identified, it will inform the person about the need for screening and refer them to the healthcare provider to evaluate and plan the next steps,” says Natália Madureira, medical director of Vitta.

Early diagnosis saves lives

The director also comments on how early diagnosis can help save more lives.

”This process, rapid and effective, can save lives because it raises awareness and brings people closer to the topic of prevention and early diagnosis, as well as allowing orientation for the health assessment and active research of those people who, reported for the need to speak with the doctor, they have not yet sought treatment”, comments Natália.

Breast cancer is a disease that affects thousands of women every year. According to the National Cancer Institute (INCA), it is estimated that around 704 thousand cases of cancer will be diagnosed in Brazil per year until 2025. However, if diagnosed early, the chances of recovery are much greater.

The new feature will only be available to customers and beneficiaries who rely on Vitta’s services. “When you promote access to healthcare and encourage these employees to have routine preventive screenings, you provide a better quality of life and well-being for these women. Furthermore, it helps to create a more welcoming, safe and collaborative working environment”, adds the Medical Director.

Human Resources departments will also receive, 100% confidentially, some data on how many of their employees may be predisposed to cancer, allowing companies to be proactive in raising awareness and preventing the disease among their employees. In this way, we can offer adequate guidance to the professional towards a treatment path and be able to evaluate which points require greater attention within the team of collaborators.

“It is worth noting that all data collected is treated with the same rigor as all other health data, according to the LGPD (General Data Protection Law), to ensure user privacy and security. No sensitive data is shared,” concludes the medical director of Vitta.
