The family told the emergency services that the newborn ended up under his brother, who rolled over while he was sleeping in the family bed.
A three-month-old baby died in his sleep after his one-year-old brother rolled over in the family bed and slept on him. The newborn was rescued and taken to the Emergency Department (UPA) in AnĂ¡polis (GO), but did not survive. The case occurred in the early hours of last Wednesday, the 25th.
As determined by Earth, the child’s parents sought assistance at a Mobile Emergency Assistance Service (Samu) post in the city after noticing that the child was not breathing. The mother said she slept in bed with the two children, while the father lay on a mattress on the floor with his 2-year-old son.
The mother also reported that she noticed that the little girl was not breathing when she woke up in the early hours of the morning. According to family members, the 1-year-old ended up rolling over in bed while sleeping and lay on his brother’s stomach.
The emergency services and first aid personnel on duty attempted to resuscitate the child for approximately thirty minutes, and then transported him to the pediatric UPA in AnĂ¡polis, where doctors confirmed cardiorespiratory arrest and then death. The municipality’s civil police reported that there was no trace of the case until Thursday the 26th this day.
