5 indoor plants that will perfume your home

We all know that indoor plants can purify the air and please the eyes. But what about another sense: smell?

Almost all flowers can remove toxins, but few can at the same time fill the rooms with a pleasant smell – here are the ones you should pay attention to first.

Melissa

Do you love the smell of citrus fruits, but don’t have the space or time to grow a small tree? Lemon balm is an excellent alternative: it gives off a lemony scent, grows quickly and does not require special care. You can also add it to tea!

Hoya

Hoya is also called wax ivy and porcelain flower, and many contradictory signs are associated with it: they say that it is “the husband’s man”, but at the same time… it strengthens the family. But one thing is certain: when the hoya blooms, the whole house is filled with a delicate aroma of vanilla or citrus, depending on the type of plant you have chosen.

Hyacinth

Luxurious hyacinth can be grown not only in the garden, but also at home in a pot – it is enough to provide it with a well-lit room and a temperature of 16-18 degrees – in other words, in winter this flower will be more comfortable on a cool but insulated loggia.

Fragrant rosemary

Rosemary is a perennial plant: to permanently benefit from the sweet and camphorous aroma reminiscent of pine, rosemary does not need to be replanted. Fragrant rosemary can grow up to a meter – to control the size of the plant, it needs to be pinched regularly (and you can probably guess where you can put its leaves – for example, potatoes cooked with them are simply beautiful!)

Gardenia

The gardenia is nicknamed the “Chinese queen of flowers”: it is said that aristocrats of the Song dynasty once admired it in their apartments. In addition, according to rumors, gardenia was the favorite flower of Coco Chanel and many other perfumers – it is not for nothing that its bright green-sweet, slightly sour and resinous aroma is so often present in perfumes. Gardenia is considered a difficult flower to care for, but the result is worth it: this plant will decorate any home!
