Approximately two and a half hours after the operation, the patient had a sudden respiratory event and went into cardiac arrest and was immediately resuscitated by the team,” the note reads.

“The operation was interrupted and the patient underwent tests which revealed massive thrombosis. She was transferred to intensive care where she underwent pharmacological and hemodynamic therapy.

Despite all the efforts of the hospital team, her progression was unfavorable and she died around 5.30am today. The cause of her death was a massive pulmonary embolism,” she concluded.
