When designing the interiors, Estúdio Maré created spaces specifically designed for residents’ pets.
OR Sea Studioled by the architect Livia Leitedesigned the interior design of this apartment 150 m2 located in the Jardins neighborhood, in Sao Paulo. The challenge was to transform an old property into a young, welcoming and functional space, taking into account the needs of a couple and their two cats.
The residents were looking for a design that would enhance the existing spaces, while providing a contemporary and welcoming atmosphere. Cats were an important part of the equation and Estúdio Maré ensured that the environments were designed with these furry members of the family in mind.

The project involved interventions in different areas of the apartment, including the living room, the home office, the bathroom and the couple’s bedroom. For the bathroom, the studio chose patterned wallpaper, retained the existing wall tiles and countertop, and painted the door and ceiling.

In the living room and dining room the highlight was the walls in burnt pink shades. The furniture follows a minimalist and timeless aesthetic, with neutral and light colors that contribute to creating a welcoming and light atmosphere.

For the home office, the company designed a shelf that not only met the storage needs but also considered the mobility of cats, allowing them to move around with ease. An existing desk was integrated into the room and a sofa bed was added, transforming the space into a guest room when needed.
