Christmas cookie recipe

Time: 30 minutes (+30 minutes in the fridge)

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 1 cup (tea) sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 3 1/2 cups (tea) wheat flour (approximately)
  • 1/2 cup powdered milk
  • Margarine for greasing
  • Fondant and royal icing in the desired colors to decorate

Preparation method:

  1. Using a mixer, beat the butter with the sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the egg, essence and beat to combine.
  3. Remove from the mixer, add the flour, the milk powder and mix with your hands until you obtain a smooth mixture. If necessary, add more flour.
  4. Store in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  5. Remove and roll out the dough between two sheets of cling film, using a rolling pin.
  6. Using metal cutters, cut biscuits into desired shape, spread onto a large, greased baking tray and bake in a preheated medium oven for 10 minutes or until cooked through and golden brown.
  7. Decorate the biscuits with fondant and royal icing in the colors you prefer, wait for them to dry and serve.
