Don Julio’s partner reveals his desire to also invest in a house in New York




Owner of the Don Julio restaurant, considered the best in Argentina, Pablo Rivero has revealed his desire to expand his investments in Sao Paulo and New York.

“The two cities that interest me are places that I visit, where I have friends and that I really like,” he says, underlining however that it will be a new activity.

“But under no circumstances will I create a Don Julio. It will be a different project. There will only be one Don Julio and in Argentina”, he guarantees in an interview with Valor Econômico.

The parrilla is the flagship of the restaurant and is recognized throughout the world. “The initial idea of ​​the restaurant, which we still maintain today, was to bring back the roots of Argentine cuisine, and the parrilla is one of the most rooted traditions in our culture,” explains Rivero

Last Friday (24th), the restaurant received its first Michelin star and is on the list of the best restaurants in the world, in 19th place in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants ranking.

“A prestigious publication is good news for Argentina, because it means that we have a good gastronomic level. Our talent, our ingredients and our creativity attract attention. It is a recognition of gastronomic houses and projects in our country and South America.” , celebrates Pablo, who also revealed his great admiration for a Brazilian chef.

“Alex Atala is a genius for me and his career pushed me to study gastronomy,” he says. “One of my biggest dreams, that of cooking with him, I realized when we organized an event at the DOM [restaurante de Atala em São Paulo].”, He added.
