Sandy doesn’t go out without makeup: Is it possible to have beautiful skin without “coverage”?

Doctors give valuable advice for those who want to show off beautiful skin with a clean face

In the series “Angélica 50 & Tanto”, singer Sandy said that she does not go without makeup. “I don’t think I’m beautiful and I don’t feel comfortable,” the artist said. But after all, is it possible to have beautiful skin with a clean face?

“Naturally beautiful skin must be healthy and have a care routine suitable for every type, age and time of year. Good lifestyle habits are essential pillars: a balanced diet, good quality sleep, regular physical activity, avoiding alcohol and smoking are essential to maintain the beauty of the skin; Naturally, the use of adequate sun protection becomes a priority, since it is the one that prevents most damage to the largest organ of our body, the skin,” says Lilian Brasileiro, doctor specialized in Dermatology.

“A visit to the dermatologist is also necessary, since developments in the field of technology allow increasingly less invasive treatments and with significant results to improve the quality of the skin,” adds dermatologist Renato Soriani, member of the SBD and expert in dermatological technologies. .

Below doctors explain the main treatments for healthy and beautiful skin.

Picosecond laser

It is one of the latest technologies to treat blemishes, melasma, remove tattoos and improve skin texture, according to Renato Soriani. A multitude of skin imperfections can be treated with the Pico Ultra 300 or Picolo lasers.

“The picosecond is equal to one second divided by trillions, that is, trillionths of a second. The laser for localized treatment, when applied, is able to ‘shatter’ the pigment, that is, break it into much smaller pieces, which makes it easier for the body to eliminate these pigments with fewer side effects,” explains the doctor .

Botulinum toxin

According to Lilian Brasileiro, botulinum toxin prevents dynamic wrinkles on the forehead, eyes and between the eyebrows.

“It acts on the muscles, preventing contractions and fractures of the skin. However, it is a treatment that should be done two or three times a year, since it lasts four months”, explains the doctor.

Fill

To fight wrinkles or volumize facial blemishes, filling with hyaluronic acid is one of the main aesthetic procedures currently performed, due to the good results obtained and the safety of the substance already present in our body.

“Hyaluronic acid hydrates and gives vitality to the skin, as it attracts water molecules between the cells. In beauty treatments this substance is used as a filler, as it gives volume to the treated areas, improves the contour of the face and promotes a more harmonious appearance”, explains the doctor.

Radiofrequency Microneedling

Recommended primarily for slightly relaxed skin, Morpheus technology is a device whose tip is equipped with microneedles that penetrate deep into the skin and release radio frequency into the deeper layers.

“Each needle emits radio frequency to heat the layers of skin tissue, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin and firming the skin. The procedure is quick, but the results are not immediate, they appear gradually and improve as more sessions are performed. Generally we recommend 2 to 3 sessions, but this number can vary from case to case”, explains Renato.

The treatment is indicated for sagging, wrinkles and lines in various regions, including the neck, neck, face and around the mouth and eyes.

Microfocused ultrasound

The technology provides thermal coagulation points in a series of lines at two depths: in the deep dermis and in the muscle layer – SMAS (muscular aponeurotic system). The most recent devices such as Liftera are also equipped with pen applicators, which facilitate the treatment of the most delicate areas (around the eyes and lips, for example), explains Renato.

“The ultrasound energy is focused to a point beneath the surface of the skin, concentrating on an area of approximately 1.5 cubic mm per point. Heating occurs in the dermis and superficial muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS) via coagulation points. It is a treatment whose action is inside the skin and does not generate any downtime. The muscle undergoes immediate contraction when hit by the clotting points. This produces a lifting effect, which can develop over three months after surgery, when new collagen continues to be produced. The objective, therefore, is to shorten the muscle to pull the skin upwards, obtaining a non-surgical lifting effect,” explains the dermatologist.

Microfocused ultrasound is also used to form the famous “collagen sparing”, a stimulus given before the first signs of aging, as a form of prevention, as well as being used strategically above the eyes to lift the look with an effect similar to that of botulinum toxin, treat double chin fat, among other indications.

Collagen biostimulator

Another way to stimulate collagen and combat sagging skin, as well as promote support, is through injectable biostimulators, according to Lilian.

“The substances used are generally polylactic acid or calcium hydroxyapatite; When applied, they cause a very controlled inflammation that stimulates and increases the number of fibroblasts, causing greater collagen production in that region. It is a very interesting technique to promote skin support; the biostimulator is applied to the cheeks, jaw, chin, temples and neck, as indicated,” explains the doctor.

Multifractionated radio frequency

The novelty arrived in Brazil with Futera technology, which emits electromagnetic waves converted into heat on the skin, which promotes facial rejuvenation.

“We call this treatment needle-free microneedling. It is a technique that uses radio frequency to improve pigmentation, pores and skin texture. It is not aggressive, it is painless and allows for a very rapid recovery”, explains Renato Soriani.

Doctors argue that, in some cases, it is necessary to combine techniques to produce the desired effects. «In any case, always consult a doctor for the correct indication of the procedure to be carried out», concludes Lilian.
