Brazilian picanha is voted “the best dish in the world”


The meat competed for the title of best dish in the world with 6 countries: Thailand, China, India, Malaysia, Italy and Russia




The Brazilian picanha was elected “the best dish in the world” in a ranking drawn up by Taste Atlas, considered the encyclopedia of gastronomy.

The result was announced on Tuesday 12th, in a competition with dishes from 6 countries: Thailand, China, India, Malaysia, Italy and Russia.

The Brazilian cut of meat, a barbecue favourite, was the champion, followed by the Malaysian bread Roti Canai and the Thai sautéed Phat Kaphrao. The Italian Neapolitan Pizza takes 4th place and the Chinese Guotie rounds out the top 5 on the list.

Brazilian picanha occupies first place in the list of the 100 best dishes in the world

Brazil is in 12th place among the 100 best cuisines in the world

In the ranking of the 100 best cuisines in the world, Italy occupies first place, followed by Japan, Greece, Portugal and China.

Brazil ranked 12th, ahead of Argentina (14th), the United States (16th) and Thailand (17th).

Popular vote

The Croatian website is collaborative and users from all over the world can rate cuisines and recipes. In 2022, picanha came second on the list, behind only karê, a Japanese stew made with meat and vegetables.

Currently on the list of the 100 best dishes in the world.
