In a book, Samara Felippo reveals that she doesn’t really like being a mother

Motherhood has been seen as a woman’s obligation since many centuries ago. After all, having the power to give birth to someone almost feels like magic. But all the women who will exercise that role? The answer is no. And that has nothing to do with not loving your children, you know? It turns out that parenting is definitely not an easy task, and romanticizing it makes it even more difficult.

“I love my daughters, but I don’t really like being a mother”, was the revelation of actress Samara Felippo in her new book, “Women Who Live in Me”. Reading this statement can be quite shocking, but many mothers think so too, especially due to the pressure exerted on women in relation to raising children.

And Samara knows all these things very well. After a season in the theater recounting her experiences as a mother in a free and humorous way, she found in the book an even more intimate way to tell her story, full of truth. “Each line is intended to de-romanticize motherhood with the courage to say everything that no one has the courage to expose”account.

After all, motherhood goes beyond the good times: it has fatigue, sleep deprivation, responsibility, coexistence – or lack – and, above all, judgments. And for all of this, it’s worth keeping in mind: moms don’t need (and shouldn’t!) Handle everything, you see ?!

“It must be remembered that the way in which this female social role has always been conveyed exposes a totally wrong profile on what it means to be a mother. The effect of this is conflicts of opinion, feelings and attitudes. Son or daughter, fruit of love and, above all, a piece of you? I kept thinking that this was the true analogy of motherhood “, concludes the actress.
