Desinchá technical consultant nutritionist Andryely Pedroso explains that fluid retention is a common problem after a period of overeating, such as high consumption of sugar, sodium and alcohol.

5 steps to lose weight fast

1. Drink water

In summer, dehydration becomes common due to high temperatures, frequent use of air conditioning, alcohol intake and other factors. To avoid dehydration and fluid retention, try to drink about 40 ml of water for every kilogram of body weight.

2. Consume diuretic fruits and vegetables

Try to include fruits and vegetables in your diet that are high in water and low in carbohydrates, with natural diuretic properties, such as watermelon, melon, pineapple, apple, carrot, beetroot, cucumber and tomato. These foods stimulate urine production and help eliminate retained fluids.

3. Avoid ultra-processed foods

Ultra-processed foods, rich in sodium and refined sugars, can increase fluid retention and inflammation in the body. Avoid consuming foods such as sausages, sweets, preserved foods, refined pasta and alcoholic beverages.
