The idea is to spread the health benefits provided by the drink’s ingredients
Have you ever imagined spending time relaxing among hops, malt and foam? Well, the new trend in wellness tourism is spa breweries. It already exists (mainly) in Iceland, Germany, the United States, Austria, Spain, Argentina and Colombia.
The idea is that visitors come into contact with the essential ingredients of the beer, which are added to the aquatic spaces and promise various therapeutic effects. Hops, for example, would work as a muscle relaxant; malt, as an exfoliant.
The world’s first spa beer appeared in 2017. It’s spa Bjórbödin, in northern Iceland. There you can bathe in bathtubs filled with drinks. Another place to remember is the Original beer spain Prague, in the capital of the Czech Republic.
On the Original Beer website it is possible to access some information on the place and the treatments offered in the establishment. They say that brewer’s yeast is a source of nourishment for the skin, smoothes wrinkles and provides general hydration, B vitamins, carbohydrates and essential proteins. You can leave the space with souvenirs such as shampoo, soap and beer-based shower gel.
It is closer to Brazil Tédelúpulo beer, the first and only thermal beer in Argentina, in Palermo, in the capital. Have you ever wondered if this trend will also take hold in Brazil?
