The small village is in the United States; the community has earned the nickname “Bestie Row”
Have you ever imagined growing old with your best friends? A group of four couples made this decision and decided to build a “collective village” near the Llano River in the state of Texas, USA.
The community earned the name “Bestie Row”. There are four small sustainable houses – the roofs of each, for example, collect rainwater so it can be reused later – all overlooking the river.
The collective space is a place where couples meet for drinks, meals and good laughs. Couples, however, do not spend all 365 (or 366 as in 2024) days of the year there, and it is even possible to rent one of the small rooms via accommodation platforms such as AirBnb and Booking.
One of the inhabitants of the small village, Jodi Zipp, once stated in an interview that the place resembles “a Disney movie”: “We have hares, lynxes, deer and all kinds of birds. As we spend more and more time here, we have found more and more.”
