Muladhara Chakra: discover your place in the world

Discover how chakras, circles of energy, can impact our lives. The base chakra is linked to our roots and our place in the world!

Chakra is a Sanskrit word that means wheel, circle or even vortex, and are energy centers that serve to absorb vital energy (prana), to distribute it within the individual (in the body, in the mind and in the spirit, through the nadis – which are like small tubes through which our energy circulates) and then releases it outwards.

Each is represented by a lotus flower with different petals, with its own colors, energies and, moreover, influences on our life.

If a chakra is in balance the energy can flow freely in that area, but if it is closed the energy cannot circulate. Therefore, when a chakra becomes blocked, imbalances can arise and manifest on a mental, physical and emotional level.

They are organized along an evolutionary hierarchy of human needs, starting with the survival instinct (BASE CHAKRA) and then evolving towards spiritual transformation (CROWN CHAKRA). But, although our subtle body has hundreds of chakras, we have 7 main ones, from the perineum to the top of the head:

1st Chakra: Base or Mulādhāra

2nd Chakra: umbilical/sexual or Svādhishthāna

3rd Chakra: Solar Plexus or Manipura

4th Chakra: cardiac or Anãhata

5th Chakra: laryngeal or Vishuddha

6th Chakra: frontal or Ãjnã

7th Chakra: Crown or Sahasrāra
