Italian state museums will enter for free from February 4th, thanks to the initiative of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage which provides free entry for visitors on the first Sunday of each month.
The provision is also valid for all state archaeological parks. Visits can be carried out during normal opening hours.
For monuments that require advance booking, people will also need to book in advance to guarantee a free ticket.
On the last free Sunday, January 7, 150,193 citizens participated in the initiative, already harshly criticized by the Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano, for being a measure that would “impoverish” the state coffers. .
