Paolla Oliveira’s Jaguar has a mechanism, LEDs and 40 thousand crystals

The person responsible for Paolla Oliveira’s jaguar costume revealed the secret of the mechanism used to move the head and illuminate the eyes of the “animal” during the parade. Bruno Oliveira spoke to the site Gshow and explained how the look was produced.

According to him, preparations began in September and an Arduino mechanism was used (a circuit with remotely controllable boards, well known to those who work with robotics), with LED light in the eyes.

Bruno, who has already created looks for Carla Diaz, Ana Hickmann, among other celebrities, revealed more details of the costume worn by Paolla Oliveira. “We used canabrava grass, which is a natural material that replaces feathers. Especially because we are talking about a texture that gives a natural atmosphere. The clothes are completely covered in crystals, glass embroidery. We are talking about more than 40 thousand crystals applied, between the head and the body,” he told Gshow.

Since the actress’ look was made of straps and very little fabric, the 40,000 crystals actually covered the entire costume, which also included strappy boots and clawed gloves. Paolla Oliveira’s makeup was brown with a black kitten and crystals.

“May the strength of the jaguar woman scare cowards and make them cry.

May the strength of the jaguar woman welcome those who have nothing to fear.

May the strength of the jaguar woman be immense and victorious.

And anyone who exercises opposition force

It will be devoured.

Evil gives the opposing party the legitimate right to revenge. Among the tupinamba there is the symbolic transfiguration of evil into something positive: after being devoured, an eternal life of pleasure and joy. Evil, therefore, is indispensable to obtain good. Evil is in itself good.

Our carnival brought with it anthropophagy, disputes over Brazilian identity and our eternal ability to devour in order to recreate, germinate, counterattack. Today I am a jaguar woman. Symbol of strength, struggle and courage.

Nothing could be so American in this moment in time and space.”
