A shot between extremes: the tallest man and the shortest woman in the world meet

Last February 19, the Guinness Book (Book of Records) promoted a curious meeting between the tallest man and the shortest woman in the world.

Sultan Kösen, 2.51 meters tall, and Jyoti Amge, 62.8 centimeters tall, posed for photos in California, on the west coast of the United States.

The duo is recorded in the Books of Records for its size, which today has no equal.

Both were recognized for their stature in Guinness in 2011.

This is the second time Kösen and Amge have met. In 2018 they had already been together in Egypt at the invitation of the local government.

Born in Turkey, Sultan Kôsen is 41 years old and is among ten confirmed cases so far of people taller than 2.5 meters in the world.

Jyoti Amge, 30, is from India and is smaller than a five-year-old.

Kösen’s unusual height is due to a tumor in the pituitary gland (a pea-sized gland formerly called the pituitary gland), located at the base of the brain.

The world’s tallest man needs crutches to get around

The father and brothers of the tallest man in the world are of average height.

Turk has another sign present in the Book of Records: living person with the largest hands – 28.5 centimeters from the wrist to the tip of the middle finger.

According to the Guinness Book, Kösen’s height prevented him from finishing school.

As a teenager, the tallest man in the world was signed by the Galatasaray basketball team. His height, however, proved impractical to continue practicing this sport, of which he is a declared fan.

Jyoti Amge has a dwarfism called achondroplasia, which limits growth to a certain extent.

The little Indian girl has always dreamed of becoming an actress.

She appeared in the music video of a local music star and participated in a series of Indian television documentaries.

According to her statements on Instagram, Jyoti Amge is fascinated by fashion and likes to pose for photos wearing new clothes.

The Guinness star has already appeared on a Romanian TV cooking show.

Like Turkey’s Kösen, the record holder mentions her presence in the Guinness Book on her social profile.

At the end of 2023, Jyoti Amge turned 30 and celebrated in a special way. He posted pictures of the party on his Instagram
