Colorful Baked Rice

Preparation time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups cooked white rice
  • 1 cup chopped ham
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 1/2 can drained green corn
  • 1/2 can drained peas
  • 2 eggs, boiled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped green olives
  • 3 tablespoons cream cheese
  • 1 chopped tomato
  • Salt and chopped green chilli to taste
  • Greasing oil
  • 1 cup (tea) tomato sauce
  • Grated mozzarella for sprinkling

Preparation method:

  1. In a bowl, mix the rice, ham, cheese, corn, peas, eggs, olives, cream cheese, tomato, salt and green chiles.
  2. Transfer to a greased medium baking dish and pour over the tomato sauce.
  3. Sprinkle with cheese and bake in a high, preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  4. Remove and serve.

TIP: Changing the appearance of everyday rice and providing extra flavor is not difficult. To prepare basic white rice, just add a jar of selected vegetables, finely chopped broccoli or grated carrot. Another way to season it is to fry a slice of chopped sausage with the garlic and onion, before adding the rice to the pan. To season the rice you can add a little tomato sauce or paprika to the preparation.
