Attention fashion students! The Sou de Algodão movement, together with Casa de Criadores, launched the 3rd Sou de Algodão + Casa de Criadores Challenge. The competition aims to give students across the country the opportunity to showcase their talent at the market.
The competition is broad and accepts students of Fashion Design, Textile Engineering, Fashion Styling and Coordination, Clothing Modeling and Fashion Production. Furthermore, from today, those who have obtained a high school diploma and are enrolled in technical-professional courses (enrolled in SISTEC) can also enroll. Stay tuned: students have until April 30 this year to register using this link.
In fact, it is worth underlining that the aim of the initiative, in addition to helping students achieve a prominent position, is to promote cotton as the main raw material. This is because trend and responsibility go hand in hand. For this reason, participants must use natural fibers in at least 70% of the composition of each look.
To participate in the competition, students can write in pairs or individually and can choose between different areas. This is because the work can cover the segments of men’s fashion, women’s fashion, couture, ready-to-wear, fitness, home/loungewear or streetwear.
Competition prize
The big winner of the 3rd Sou de Algodão + Casa de Criadores Challenge will join the official lineup of Casa de Criadores and is expected to present a collection at the 56th edition of the aforementioned event, in 2025. In addition, the student will win a prize of up to R$ 30,0000 and your supervising teacher will receive R$10,000 as orientation subsidy. The second and third place winners will win 100 and 50 meters of fabric from the competition partners respectively.
