Drywall is one of the fastest and cheapest ways to build interiors. It consists of a prefabricated steel and plasterboard structure. This type of structure is perfect for creating walls, niches and built-in wardrobes and ceiling moldings.
Compared to concrete and brick structures, plasterboard is less resistant, but its slabs have both cardboard backs and filler with additive plaster, meeting the technical standards of buildings. Powdered gypsum is a dehydrated gypsum rock which, in contact with water, turns back into stone, which is a very resistant system. Drywall is applied quickly, quietly and with little dirt.

What is drywall?

Created in 1898 by Augustine Sackett in the United States, drywall revolutionized American civil construction. Here in Brazil, drywall gained notoriety from the 1970s onwards, for being an affordable and functional way to include crown molding, siding or partition walls.

See the disadvantages of the drywall system
Drywall should not be used outdoors, as it is not resistant to temperature changes. Limited to indoor environments. Another disadvantage is the possible proliferation of bacteria and fungi, due to the empty space between the plasterboard sheets.
To avoid this type of situation, it is important to carry out regular pest checks so that your home is free of bacteria and fungi. It is interesting to avoid using it in humid places, such as the bathroom, as it can shape the wall and compromise the structure. If you want to apply this type of structure in the bathroom, it is important that it receives the proper treatment.

Know how to identify 3 types of drywall sheets
You can easily identify the types of drywall sheets from the shade of the cardboard siding. All plates have a white face which is the finish and you can differentiate the function of each plate by its green, pink or white color.
The dishes in shades of green are ideal for humid environments such as bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms. It is also used to close the walls in promotional stands. In the green plate, the gypsum has fungicidal and silicone additives.
Drywall with white panels is used to make drywall walls and ceilings. These whiteboards are perfect for dividing rooms, creating furniture, shelves and niches.
A sheet of pink plasterboard is fire resistant because glass fibers are mixed with it. This pink drywall sheet is often used around fireplaces.
