Ingredients:

  • 500 g of flattened sardines
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 yellow pepper
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • 1 chili pepper
  • 1 Sicilian lemon
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • salt
  • black pepper

Preparation method:

Place all the ingredients in a deep pan, except the sardines. Cover and cook for 10 minutes. Then add the sardines with the meat facing the vegetables. Cover and cook for another 5 minutes. Leave to cool for about 4 hours, then place in an airtight container, alternating layers of sardines and layers of vegetables, and place in the refrigerator. Lasts up to 7 days!
