With drug prices readjusted by around 11%, it’s time to look for options.

Financing medicines helps deflate inflation

If you’ve heard the phrase “The price of drugs is at the time of death!”, Know that you are not alone. Last April, medicines increased by about 10.8%, directly affecting more than 10,000 government-regulated medicines.

The percentage proposed by the Technical-Steering Committee of the Medicines Market Regulatory Chamber (CMED), an agency connected to the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa), reaches the consumer by affecting the budget and putting pressure on inflation.

But critical situations require creative initiatives. And so it was born drug financing. And that’s exactly what DrCash, a startup that funds medical, dental and ophthalmic procedures, offers.

It is a line of credit for individuals or businesses to purchase high-cost medicines and medical supplies, with a variety of installment options. Values reach R $ 15 thousand and the benefit may alleviate the impact felt by 76% of Brazilians in the price hike of the past six months, according to the survey commissioned by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI).

“We are presenting solutions to both sides for the entrepreneur and the customer and we contribute to the health of the population, mainly to those people who need drug therapies for a longer period, or whose value of drugs exceeds the monthly income limit” said DrCash co-founder Gabriel Meireles.

Is it worth opening a credit line for medicines?

The credit made available by the startup relates to the customer’s earnings, who can pay in installments up to 30% of their income. The idea here, however, is to benefit both sides: the customer and the pharmacy.

For accreditation to be possible, the pharmacy must apply for accreditation in place by DrCash, as well as having CNPJ with active registration and National Classification of Economic Activities (CNAE) validated with federal agencies such as: pharmacy, distributor or laboratory.

As for the private individual, the customer, just access the startup platform with the valid document in hand, to request registration.

“The credit line brings valuable social benefits to society by allowing access to drug therapies,” says the startup’s co-founder, Lucas Hamú.
