Easter: what to do in Ibirapuera Park

According to a survey by the Ministry of Tourism, during the Easter holidays that begin this Friday, March 29, more than 1.6 million passengers are expected to travel through Brazilian airports. In Guarulhos (SP) alone, approximately 535 thousand passengers are expected on national and international flights between March 28th and April 1st.

But for those who remain in Sao Paulo, there will be no shortage of programming.

Visitors to Ibirapuera Park, for example, will be able to enjoy the weekend with various activities for all ages, such as the special session at the Planetarium and the Hot Wheels City Experiencewith kart track, car display and 3D shows.

Special Live Session – “Follow the White Rabbit”

On Saturday (30/3), at 5pm, the Ibirapuera Planetarium will host this special live session, coordinated by the astrophysicist Marcelo Rubinho, who will talk about the link between the rabbit and Easter, as well as the link between this animal and the chocolate egg.

During the show, the constellations in the sky and the mythology behind the most coveted mammal at Easter will be presented. Tickets start at R$15 and can be purchased on the Planetário Urbia Pass website (planetario.urbiapass.com.br) or in person at the box office.

Hot Wheels City Experience

Until June 23, Oca al Parque Ibirapuera hosts this event (R$ 115.50 per person), in an area of ​​over 12 thousand m² of exhibition space and more than 10 stations. The program includes activities such as a kart track, a car exhibition, 3D shows, assembly areas and an official shop.

Museum of Modern Art

Saturday (30/3), at 3pm, on Coffee time (free entry), at the MAM Sculpture Garden (Museum of Modern Art), in Ibirapuera, an outdoor activity for a conversation on themes of contemporary art and culture.

In this café, the art educator, cultural producer, artisan and photographer Maria Ferreira will discuss the new works of the Sculpture Garden and what they have to tell us, registration for which must be done 30 minutes before the activities at the MAM reception.

On Sunday (31/3), at 11am and 3pm, MAM will make a spontaneous visit to the exhibition George Love: Beyond Timea free activity open to the public, with the aim of exchanging experiences and reflections starting from the artist’s photographs.



Japanese Pavilion

In this building built thanks to the partnership between the Japanese government and the Japanese-Brazilian community, the public sees the main hall, the exhibition hall with pieces donated by Japan, the garden with ornamental plants and trees, and the koi pond.

With entry costing R$15 (free on Thursdays), the place also features a Japanese-themed café and souvenir shop.

Ibira Circular

Transport service that passes through the main attractions of Ibirapuera, with stops at the Biennial, the Museum of Modern Art, the Oca, the Ibirapuera Auditorium, the Afro Brasil Museum (MAB), the Ibirapuera Planetarium, the Visitor Center and the Japanese Pavilion , among other places.

The trolley departure point is at gates 3 and 4, daily, from 8:30 to 17:00, and entry per person costs R$15.



Ibirtour

This 45-minute guided circuit takes place with electric trolleys, every day, starting at 9:00 am and with the last departure at 5:00 pm, at Gate 4.

The equipment has the capacity to transport up to four people, on a route that covers the history and curiosities of Ibirapuera. The tour does not include stops or descents and costs R$30 per person.

Ibirabike

Bicycle and tricycle rental for children and adults as well handbike (equipment accessible to people with disabilities), at gates 4, 6, 9 and 10, from 8.00 to 18.00, with return until 19.00.

The service costs from R$15 (1st hour) to R$7.50 (for every additional 30 minutes). The family tricycle is available for R$35 (1st hour) and R$17.50 (for each additional 30 minutes).
