Holy Week is expected to have more than 2.2 million travelers in Brazil

According to a survey released by the Ministry of Tourism, this Wednesday (3/28), the Holy Week festivities are expected to attract more than 2.2 million passengers to Brazilian airports.

According to information provided by the country’s main airline concessionaires, the Ministry informed that around 535 thousand passengers are expected on board national and international flights at Guarulhos (SP) airport alone between 28 March and 1 April.

In Campinas, in the hinterland of SĆ£o Paulo, Viracopos airport is expected to carry 248 thousand passengers, of which the busiest days will be Thursday with 44 thousand people, Monday with 53.3 thousand and Tuesday with more than 47 thousand people who embark or disembark.




At the Tom Jobim international airport in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), 242 thousand passengers are expected, on 162 thousand national and 80 thousand international flights. Traveler flow is 98% higher than in 2023 and represents a 6% increase compared to 2019.

A traditional date in the calendar of Brazilian religious holidays, Holy Week will also bring great activity to Brasilia International Airport (DF), where it is estimated that 175 thousand passengers will circulate, in approximately 1,300 landings and take-offs.

The list continues with the international airport of Curitiba, in ParanĆ”, with 65 thousand arrivals and departures, followed by the terminals of GoiĆ¢nia-GO (35 thousand), Navegantes-SC (27 thousand), Foz do IguaƧu-PR (24 thousand) and SĆ£o LuĆ­s -MA (17 thousand).
