There are many wonders in nature, among them the volcanic lake of Kamchatka, known as Trinity. Seen from above, its surface is simply perfect – blue and clean. But what happens if you swim in such a body of water?

At the time of the discovery, the water in the reservoir was a brilliant emerald, which is why researchers called it Green Lake. Later, the color changed: in the 60s of the last century the lake became turquoise, and since 2008 it has become azure gray. The lake was eventually included in the documents under the name of the scientist Vsevolod Troitsky – it was he who was the first to descend along the steep walls of the 200-meter crater to the edge of this body of water. And he discovered the main secret of this beauty.
As beautiful as Trinity Lake is, swimming there is strictly prohibited. The lake is not filled with water, but with a liquid composed of potentially deadly acids. And the attractive color of the water is explained by the higher concentration of sulfur.
In the very salty waters of this volcanic lake, in addition to sulfuric and hydrochloric acid, we find hydrofluoric acid.
Its vapors, mixed with sulfur vapors, can seriously harm health, therefore all travelers planning to stay on Trinity Lake are recommended to wear a gas mask. Otherwise, when inhaling toxic chemicals, a person will experience a slow death: the first sign of poisoning will be a severe cough, followed by headache, weakness throughout the body, fainting, pulmonary edema, nervous system paralysis and coma.
Even light splashes of hydrofluoric acid can corrode everything in the world, from human skin to metal.
Only one case is described where scientists risked going into the middle of a reservoir to conduct experiments. The boat survived, but not the aluminum oars. It was only by luck that the volcanologists reached the shore and did not die.
Certainly
So the answer to the title question is clear: nothing good will happen to a person who decides to swim in Trinity Lake.
