Created in 2018 by Rodrigo Real to manage the care of his new dog Chiara, the free MeuPet application has just reached the threshold of half a million animals registered by over 300 thousand tutors.
Available for Android and iOS, the application allows you to create a medical record of animals of over 10 species, with name, age, weight, pedigree, coat, chip and temperament, create vaccines and drug alerts, schedule treatments such as bathing and grooming, and find veterinary clinics and pet shops based on geo-location, with feedback from other tutors.
MeuPet’s idea was born from Rodrigo’s need to create reports and monitor the care of Chiara, a dog he had just adopted. Rodrigo developed the app for his own use, not to forget to take care of Chiara, but in a short time it attracted the interest of other tutors and, later, veterinarians, as it also allows communication between tutors and professionals.
In addition to the digital medical record that allows the monitoring of individual pet routinewhen you need care such as bathing, grooming, or consultations with your vet, you can search for local pet shops and clinics through geolocation.
The growth of the system and the focus on facilitating pet care attracted the attention of Leo Zysman, founder and CEO of S2 Pets, a startup that uses technology to help local clinics and pet shops, which represent the 80% of the market according to the EuroMonitor, to gain competitiveness.
Without having to call or go to the store or clinic, the tutor using the MeuPet app can check reviews and initiate conversations with clinics and stores, make appointments, purchase packages, evaluate and encourage trust exercises. The merger of S2 Pets with MeuPet created the complete ecosystem for tutors and owners of veterinary clinics or pet shops and appointed Rodrigo CTO of the startup.
Tenants have access to Management system, mentoring with S2 Pets specialists, access to a shopping club, digital marketing assistance, training, facade revitalization and standardization of stores according to best market practices. While tutors can manage all pet care through MeuPet and have access to local stores and pet shops that treat pets with love, affection and care.
The company’s potential attracted an investment of R ＄ 2 million in a round managed by DOMO Invest in June 2021. The contribution saw the participation of Bruin Angels, FEA Angels, Hangar 8 and other investors. Recently, the company received a new grant from DOMO Invest and another from Caravela Capital, of an undisclosed amount. For 2022, the expectation is to reach 5 million users and record a growth 10 times greater than the previous year.
