Picanha with potatoes: turn dinner into a special occasion

The menu is already defined: picanha with potatoes! This is the kind of dish that turns every day into an event and every meal into a celebration. To bring the family together, to enjoy with a loved one or even on a particularly special occasion, this preparation method is perfect. Cooked in a pan and browned in the oven with potatoes, the piece of meat will be even more succulent than usual.

Picanha recipe with potatoes:

Time: 55 minutes (+10 minutes rest)

Performance: 7 servings

Difficulty: easy

Ingredients:

  • 1kg of potato meatballs
  • 1 piece picanha (1kg to 1.5kg)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh rosemary to taste (optional)

Preparation method:

  1. In a pan, cook the potatoes in boiling salted water for 5 minutes.
  2. Turn off, drain and reserve.
  3. Trim excess fat from the meat and make small diagonal cuts across the entire piece.
  4. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Over high heat, heat a pan and fry the picanha in its own fat, browning it on all sides.
  6. Turn off the heat and transfer the meat into a mould.
  7. Pour the fat from the pan over it and place the potatoes next to it. If desired, sprinkle more salt over the piece, potatoes and add a few sprigs of rosemary.
  8. Bake in a preheated medium oven for 35 minutes or until the potatoes are golden brown and the meat is cooked to your desired doneness.
  9. Turn off, remove and wait 10 minutes.
  10. Cut the meat into slices and arrange it on a plate with the potatoes. If desired, serve with rice.
