This April 11th we celebrate the Fondue day! The recipe is one of the most traditional Swiss dishes and has become popular in Brazil as a “winter recipe”. But the truth is that this treat is good any time of year.

3 fondue recipes to enjoy on the dish’s birthday
Condensed milk fondue
Preparation time: 1h (+2h in the fridge)
Performance: 8 servings
Difficulty level: easy
Ingredients:
- 1 sachet of colorless unflavored powdered gelatine
- 1 can milk (use empty condensed milk can to measure)
- 2 cans of condensed milk
- 1 can of cream
- 3 tablespoons of chocolate powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 2 ripe dwarf bananas, sliced
- 1 cup strawberries (cut in half)
- 1 large apple without peel and seeds, cut into cubes
- 1 large seedless pear, cut into cubes
Preparation method:
- In a pan, sprinkle the gelatin with milk and let it hydrate for 5 minutes.
- Place over low heat to melt it, without letting it boil.
- Blend the condensed milk, cream, chocolate and vanilla in a blender.
- Pour into a deep round plate and refrigerate for 2 hours.
- Serve accompanied by fruit.
Corn fondue

Preparation time: 50 minutes
Performance: 10 servings
Difficulty level: easy
Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cans green corn, drained
- 2 tablespoons of water
- 1 teaspoon corn starch
- 4 tablespoons of cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter
Preparation method:
- In a pan, over low heat, place the corn, cover with water and cook until boiling.
- Turn off, pour the blender into the blender until smooth.
- In another pan, over medium heat, dissolve the cornstarch in the cream, stirring constantly, for 3 minutes.
- Then add the corn paste and cook over low heat until it thickens.
- Transfer to a fondue pot and add salt, pepper and butter.
- Mix and serve with breaded chickenif you wish.
Traditional fondue recipe

Time: 45 minutes
Performance: 4 servings
Difficulty: easy
Ingredients:
- 1 and 1/2 glasses of dry white wine
- 1 tablespoon orange juice
- 300 g brie cheese, cut into cubes
- 300 g coarsely grated Ementhal cheese
- 1 clove of garlic
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 3 teaspoons of brandy
- Black pepper and grated nutmeg to taste
Preparation method:
- Place the garlic in the bottom of a fondue pot.
- Add the orange juice and wine over low heat until it boils.
- Melt the brie cheese in the mixture and then add the ementhal.
- Mix with a wooden spoon until a smooth mixture forms.
- Meanwhile, separately, dissolve the cornstarch in the brandy, then pour it over the cheese mixture.
- Continue stirring until it thickens, but do not let it boil.
- Season to taste with pepper and nutmeg and serve immediately.
