Brazil took 25 places in the ranking of the 50 best artisan pizzerias in Latin America, with Sao Paulo’s Leeggera Pizza Napoletana in first place. The award included Brazilian representatives from several states of the country.
Brazil ranked 25th in the Top 50 of the Guide to the best artisan pizzerias in Latin America.
First place went to Leeggera Pizza Napoletana from San Paolo, led by chef Andre Guidon.
The pizzas are cooked in a wood-fired oven at a temperature of 450 degrees with light dough, naturally fermented and are produced with a mixture of Italian flours and tomatoes with a designation of origin from Vesuvius in Campania in Naples, Italy.
The result was released on Tuesday 17th and the other 24 Brazilian restaurants include those in Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia, Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Alagoas, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul and Sao Paulo.
In ninth place was Rio de Janeiro company Ferro e Farinha, led by chef Sei Shiroma, with units in Ipanema, Leblon, Botafogo and Barra da Tijuca.
The Northeast is represented by Grazie Pizzeria Napoletana, in Maceió (AL), in 13th place. Chef Nicole Acioli celebrated the result on social media.
“We were honored to receive an incredible recognition… This award is not just a trophy, it is a celebration of everything we have built, our history, our work, dedication and love for pizza. Every pizza that comes out of our oven brings with it a bit of our history, tradition and dedication”, said the chef.
