Understanding the relationship between Tarot and Pregnancy and how combinations of arcana can indicate the arrival of a child with their symbolic meanings
A Tarot reading offers some combinations of cards that can indicate the possibility of pregnancy, but this interpretation often depends on the tarot reader’s intuition.
When I am faced with a woman who is not yet aware of her pregnancy, something special happens as I manipulate the deck.
One story that stuck with me happened around 2005. A young woman came to me for a second or third reading of Tarot.
As soon as I started arranging the Mandala cards, the first two, the central card representing the querent and the one representing her, were occupied respectively by the Priestess and the Empress.
Instinctively I asked, “Are you pregnant? It seems so, right?” The girl was visibly upset and, interrupting her reading, she declared:
“I’m sorry, I can’t concentrate. I’d rather come back another time. I’m going to the pharmacy.”
Later that day he called me confirming the pregnancy, I was the first to know.
How Tarot Cards Can Signal Pregnancy
The Priestess, surprisingly, can indicate the possibility of pregnancy more strongly than the Empress.
- While A Empress may represent an advanced or successful pregnancy
- The Priestess it symbolizes the initial phase, the place where the magic of conception takes place.
Interesting, right? This goes back to the early stage of life, when all humans are biologically female. For more details, research the SRY gene, the male sex activator.
Many other cards, both from the Major and Minor Arcana, can indicate the possibility of conception during a Tarot reading. For example:
- The star AND The world in the Major Arcana, and also The madmancan bring signs of pregnancy.
- In minors, the suit of Cups has more letters pointing in this direction, especially the Ace, Three and Ninefollowed by letters from DiamondsAS Ace and fourthe two female suits of the deck.
- Letters like Four of Swords may indicate a high-risk pregnancy, while Eight and the Four of Wands it could represent the long-awaited positive news.

Tarot on fertility and emotional issues
For women who have difficulty getting pregnant, Tarot can help investigate the emotional factors underlying the problem.
Once, a woman who had been married for years came to me, telling me about her difficulties in carrying on with a pregnancy, despite having consulted several specialists.
While reading, I found out that he was in charge of a security team composed mostly of armed men in the shops.
His stressful function and assertive behavior were evident. When you ask for yours relationship with the mother, said it was very bad. Given her desire to get pregnant, I suggested that she take a vacation or reduce her workload.
Additionally, I advised her to seek out her mother for a conversation, if possible, or to ritualize an act of forgiveness. I felt that for her, her nest should form, just like a bird would. And for this comforting and welcoming elements would be necessary.
Remember the Tarot is a symbolic method of investigation. When it comes to health, it is essential to advise that you consult a medical specialist before taking any action.
