How can you resist a cornmeal cake with grandma’s recipe, with the current equipment, the Airfryer
Recipe for 2 people.
Classic (no restrictions), Vegetarian
Preparation: 00:50 + cooling time

cup = 240 ml, spoon = 15 ml, teaspoon = 10 ml, teaspoon = 5 ml
Ingredients for cornmeal cake:
– 2 units of eggs
– 3/4 cup(s) of sugar
– 1 cup(s) cornmeal + a little to sprinkle the pan
– 1 cup(s) of wheat flour
– 1/2 cup(s) of milk
– 1/2 cup(s) of oil
– 1/2 tablespoon(s) of chemical yeast
– Salt to taste
– fennel seeds to taste
PREPARATION:
- For the recipe for 2 portions, use a 20 cm diameter and 6 cm high mold. For multiple portions it is advisable to divide the preparation into several trays of compatible dimensions and cook in several phases.
- Separate the ingredients and utensils for the recipe.
- In a bowl sift the wheat flour with the corn flour and a pinch of salt.
- Grease the pan(s) with butter and sprinkle with cornmeal.
- Preheat the Airfryer to 160°C.
PREPARATION:
Cornmeal Cake in the Airfryer – Preparing the Dough:
- In a blender, beat the eggs with the sugar.
- Add the oil and milk and mix well.
- If your blender has good power, reduce the speed and gradually add the wheat flour, corn flour and salt mixture.
- Otherwise, transfer the contents of the blender into a bowl and mix the dry ingredients with a spatula.
- Turn off the blender and add the fennel seeds (optional) and yeast.
Cornmeal Cake in the Airfryer – Cook:
- Transfer the dough into the already buttered and floured pan.
- Place the pan in the Airfryer basket and close the drawer.
- Bake at 160°C for 25-30 minutes or until cooked (do the toothpick test: if it comes out clean it’s ready).
- Remove the cake from the Airfryer and shake the pan lightly to see if the cake loosens.
- Let it cool slightly and turn it out onto a serving plate.
FINALIZATION AND ASSEMBLY:
- Serve the cornmeal cake in the Airfryer sliced, warm or at room temperature.
