“Lord, we praise you for our family and we thank you for your presence in our home. Enlighten us so that we can make our commitment of faith in the Church and participate in the life of our community. Teach us to live your Word and your commandment of ‘Love, following the example of the family of Nazareth, give us the ability to understand our differences in age, sex, character, to help each other, to forgive our mistakes and to live in harmony.
Give us, Lord, health, work and a home where we can live happily. Teach us to share what we have with the neediest and poorest, and give us the grace to accept illness and death with faith and serenity when they approach our family. Help us to respect and encourage the vocation of our children when you want to call them to your service. May trust, loyalty and mutual respect reign in our family, so that love becomes stronger and unites us more and more. Stay in our family, Lord, and bless our home today and always. Amen!”
The prayer of Saint Benedict
“Glorious Saint Benedict, who dedicated his entire life to Christ and to his brothers, taking care of spiritual life and establishing bridges of love between the heart of God and the soul of man, protect me from the attacks of evil, free me from the pitfalls of the enemy, grant me inner peace and strength in the face of the storms of life.

And just as we read in the book of Exodus chapter 12, when the Lord protected the homes of the Israelites, may my home, through this prayer of protection, be marked by the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, a sign of protection against any and every kind of scourge. I invoke the special intercession of the Virgin Mary and Saint Michael the Archangel to confirm this prayer. However, this door, my whole house, be sealed, marked and protected in the liberating Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.”
