After four editions with great names of popular music, accompanied by the Brasil Jazz Sinfônica, Sala São Paulo announces another edition of its Historical encounters.
The new concert series now features the São Paulo Big Band, a 2021 instrumental group, made up of 20 Brazilian musicians and the project’s new resident.
This time, the event promotes the musical meeting of singers Xande de Pilares and Simoninha, who will sing classics by Caetano Veloso, Jorge Ben Jor, Gilberto Gil, Chico Buarque, João Bosco and Wilson Simonal.
The show will be next Saturday, at 8.30pm, also live on the Sala São Paulo channel, on YouTube.
“In 2024, in the fifth edition of the Historical Encounters of the São Paulo Hall, we continue to welcome the great icons of the MPB on the stage of the São Paulo Hall. As a novelty, we have the joy of welcoming the São Paulo Big Band, which has emerged in the Brazilian scene “, warns Marcelo Lopes, executive director of Fundação Osesp – the institution behind the project and responsible for managing the Sala São Paulo.
The 2024 edition, launched last April, has already seen the participation of Fernanda Abreu and Paula Lima, singing hits by Rita Lee (1947-2023), and continues with six more dates until December.
