Want to know more about types of potatoes and their uses? Check it out below:
English potato
This is the most common type here in Brazil and is rich in numerous nutrients, such as vitamin B, calcium and iron. It is also the most versatile, being used in various recipes with potatoes, fried, roasted or even in the form of puree.
Sweet potato
The favorite of fitness diets is also great for those who for some reason need to replace nutrients. Its sweet flavor is very different from that of other types of potatoes, as is its purple skin. It can be eaten fried, roasted or boiled. Furthermore, with it you can make very tasty chips that will help you replace industrialized products.
Asterix potato
It is very similar to the English potato, but with a more purple or pink skin. It is very light, so it may fall apart if cooked or stewed. In this way it is more suitable for fried preparations.
Baroa Potato
Also called mandioquinha, this potato is rich in numerous vitamins and is another potato that makes an excellent puree! Not to mention that it can be roasted and is, in fact, highly recommended for introducing children to food.
Potatoes meatball
Because it is small, it often appears as a snack, sometimes preserved. Apart from the size, it closely resembles the English potato.
