The American actor is the protagonist of the 24 films that will be screened in the months of July and August
OR CCBB Brasilia and the CCBB Sao Paulo receive the film exhibition “Pacino”, a tribute to the famous American actor, and shows the most memorable films of the artist’s career. There will be 24 feature films, courses and debates distributed over more than a month of the event. The sessions take place from July 2 to August 4 in Brasilia and from July 6 to August 18 in Sao Paulo, always from Tuesday to Sunday.
The exhibition, already presented at the CCBB in Rio de Janeiro, brings together films with Al Pacino between 1971 and 2019. The best-known titles are the three films in the series The Godfatherdirected by Francis Ford Coppola.
Fans of the actor will also have the opportunity to watch – or re-watch – feature films such as Scarface (1983, by Brian de Palma), Serpico (1973, by Sidney Lumet) and A dog’s afternoon (1975, again by Sidney Lumet).
In addition to screening films, a debate collaboration between the exhibition curator and a specialist is foreseen three classes of a course on Al Pacino’s performance in the context of the modern American acting school – in Brasilia the event will take place on July 12, 13 and 14, and in São Paulo, on July 19, 20 and 21. About Al Pacino
The American actor of Italian origin was born in 1940 and raised in New York. He also appeared in plays on Broadway and won a Tony Award for his work in the theater. He starred in a feature film for the first time in 1971 – The employeeby Jerry Schatzberg.
The series The Godfatherby Coppola, launched Al Pacino as one of the masterpieces of contemporary cinema. It also earned the actor the first of ten Oscar nominations for his performances: he would win the coveted Academy Award in 1993 for Women’s perfumedirected by Martin Brest. Al Pacino has also acted in several television productions, such as the miniseries Angels in America.
