This Saturday, 9, the presentation of the German trio The Liz, at the 3rd CHIII – Creative Music Festival, in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut, from 6 pm. The completely free event will take place at the Galpão Cru, in Barra Funda, west of São Paulo. Other presentations will be held until July 17; Consult the complete program on the website.
Led by Korhan Liz Erel, on sampler, electronic drums, sound design and vocals, and also composed by the German Liz Kosack, on synthesizers, video editing, vocals, and Liz Allbee, on quadraphonic horn, reverb tank, vocals, the group si presents an experimentalism based on jazz and electronic sounds focused on rhythm, together with improvisations with spoken texts and multimedia incursions that bring videos, puppets and performances.
The trio performs with the multi-instrumentalist, singer and interpreter Dharma Jhaz, in the evening that also includes Cine Vânia, a short film played by the winner of the edition. Vânia Dantas Leite is the pianist, harpsichordist and pioneer in the use of analog synthesizers in electroacoustic music in Brazil.
Also this Saturday, 9th, there will be the exhibition of the four sound installations of the JazzFest Berlin and the presentation of Amodrama, an electronic project by Samara Bispo.
Furthermore, at the Goethe-Institut São Paulo headquarters, the trio The Liz ministers DIY – Performance Production Workshop on 11, 12 and 13 July, with registration until Friday 8, via the online form. Improvisation and structuring techniques of a piece will be developed, developing the elements and the form.
And those attending the trial will perform with the trio on July 14, at 8:30 pm, also at the Goethe-Institut. The prerequisites to participate in this workshop are: interest in improvisation, people with musical interests or abilities, visual art, dance, theater, writing, performance art.
