Forget the “concept” that eating well is expensive
It doesn’t matter the day or the time, after all it’s hard to meet someone who can resist a pizza, right? Even better when it can be enjoyed lightly and in this sense Professor of Nutrition at CEUB (University Center of Brasilia) Paloma Popov will share three tips for a healthy pizza.
Three tips for a healthy pizza
Natural
Paloma recommends natural ingredients, such as homemade tomato sauce, which also avoids preservatives and additives from industrialized sauces. “A good option is to choose a whole wheat or naturally fermented dough to increase the nutritional value,” she commented.
Filling
“Use low-fat cheeses, such as ricotta or buffalo mozzarella, and add fresh vegetables, examples: spinach, arugula, tomatoes, peppers, zucchini and eggplant. Grilled chicken or tuna are lean proteins and also great options. Basil, oregano and rosemary can be added for a special touch,” she emphasized.
No ultra-processed
The rule is simple: avoid ultra-processed foods and sausages, peppers, ham and pepperoni. “There are alternatives to shredded meat and chicken and homemade ingredients,” she stressed.
Final word
“In this way, pizza already refers to the idea of celebrating or not celebrating a specific event. Therefore, this is, in my opinion, the most special tradition of eating pizza,” concluded Paloma Popov.
