Interested in adopting the horse
Since he arrived rescued and debilitated at the Veterinary Hospital of the Lutheran University of Brazil (Ulbra), in Canoas (RS), several people have contacted introducing themselves as guardians of the animal, which suggests that many of these people may be lying. In addition, celebrities have offered to adopt him.
For now, the school has not defined who the horse Caramelo will be housed with or where he will be taken. According to veterinarians, who are paying close attention to the horse’s recovery, the final decision will be up to the university.
“All names and contact details of those who contacted us have been forwarded to the administration, which will be responsible for resolving the legal issue of ownership.”explains the coordinator of the Veterinary Medicine course at Ulbra, Jean Soares.
Faced with the impasse, the Ulbra Veterinary Hospital has already communicated to the university management that it will be able to keep Caramelo, but the final decision has not yet been made. The place has a school farm, with enough space to incorporate you into the group of animals.
