If you are a glutton and your favorite season is Easteryou surely face pimples every day. And let’s confess something, there is nothing better than a chocolate to make our day happier, right? However, if your objective is to get rid of the feared zits We have sad news: this dependency must be significantly reduced, especially at this time.
And we’re not the ones saying it, but the dermatologist, aesthetician and skin specialist, Patricia Elia. We spoke to her to find out if there is a way to have a happy Easter without pimples afterwards. Find out if it is possible below:
Can you eat a lot of chocolate and not get pimples?
Unfortunately, no! “It’s almost a rule: if you eat chocolate, acne will appear. The amount of sugar helps against inflammation in the body and the appearance of pimples, especially for those who have a genetic predisposition to acne. Applying cream to your face or washing it many times does not help,” explains Patricia.
Tasting can reduce but not eliminate acne
“Most of the time we don’t know how to taste. And what’s the difference between eating and tasting a dessert? Tasting is leaving it in your mouth and melting it. When we do this act of waiting for it to melt and not swallowing directly, we bring information to the brain to capture what we are ingesting. On top of all that, we work with the different taste buds on our tongue,” he says about the correct way to enjoy chocolate.
Eating too quickly won’t benefit the treat. “Information about what we’re eating takes about two to three minutes to reach the brain. So when we eat a chocolate bar in less than five minutes, that information doesn’t get there,” she explains.
If you love dark chocolate, this tip is for you!
Do you really like very dark chocolate? Then you will love this alternative more. “Another tip I give to avoid stressing your skin during the Easter period is to favor chocolates with a cocoa content higher than 70%. The higher the cocoa content, the higher the concentration of antioxidants, which are excellent for your health,” explains the specialist.
