Ana Maria Celebrates First Coffee Harvest on Her Farm: “300 Kilos Are Really Good”

Ana Maria Braga celebrated the first coffee harvest at her Primavera farm, in the hinterland of São Paulo, and showed the images on “Mais Você” this Monday 9. The presenter explained that, thanks to the irrigation of her coffee plantation, the plantation was not damaged by the drought caused by the fires that hit São Paulo.

“I went to visit my coffee plantation. Last week it was all in bloom, even the plants are a little wary of this climate. It was supposed to be cold, it was hot, it rained, then they bloomed… And the coffee is growing. It comes out of there, what it has picked is in the yard drying, surprisingly for the first harvest, since I have irrigation, I already have 300 kilos, it’s really good”.

The farm has 376 hectares and Ana Maria decided to invest in growing organic coffee, free of artificial inputs such as chemical fertilizers, pesticides or other synthetic additives after almost “going bankrupt” twice.

“There’s no need to trample, the beans sit for six to nine days, then you peel them, remove the skin, then roast them and grind them. It’s a lot of work, but we love it,” he added.

“I am happy with this harvest because I have irrigation in the coffee plantation, the concern for the weather is great, because there was a fire that was raging in the surroundings. It caught fire in my region, the firefighters are arriving, a water truck…”, concluded Ana Maria.

The site also has eucalyptus plantations and various types of fruit and vegetables, as well as beef and dairy cattle farming.
