Foie Gras Burgers and Luxury: The World’s Most Beautiful McDonald’s Reopens in Budapest

The snack bar is located at the Nyugati train station in Hungary, in a building from 1877

The McDonald’s at Nyugati Station in Budapest, considered the “most beautiful in the world,” has reopened after being closed for eight months for renovations. The snack bar has retained its old-world elegance, with original architectural details from 1877, designed by Austrian architect August de Serres, who also helped design the Eiffel Tower.

Some original elements have been preserved: copper lamps, the detailed ceiling with boiserie and the stained glass windows that surround the entire building embellish the place, very different from the standardized shops scattered around the world. The renovated historical building harmonizes with the modernity and technology of the equipment and totems present in the menu.

One of the standouts – and also a controversial burger – is the Goosey Gustav burger, which features a combination of succulent beef and foie gras, offering customers a new fast food experience.

The MC in Budapest also has the spicy pork burger, the McFarm, with gluten-free pork, and the Filet-O-Fish, made with breaded cod fillet, half a slice of loose cheddar cheese, and tartar sauce. As a side dish, in addition to French fries and salad, there are also grilled potatoes.

Craving a sweet treat? The place sells “Pistachio Dream,” a vanilla ice cream with a creamy pistachio coating and freeze-dried strawberry pieces with sugar.

McCafé has been completely redesigned and offers a new outdoor space, ideal for enjoying aromatic coffee and delicious pastries.

The large dining room features multiple self-service kiosks, from touch screens to delivery options, allowing customers to enjoy their favorite dishes in the comfort of their own homes.
