Oscar winner The Boy and the Crane gets a release date on Netflix

Netflix announced on Monday (9) that The Boy and the Heronthe latest film from Studio Ghibli, which won the Best Animated Feature award at the last edition of the Oscars, will soon be available on the streaming platform.

What is the story of The Boy and the Heron?

The film follows a twelve-year-old boy who struggles to settle in a new city after his mother’s death. However, when a talking heron appears and tells him that his mother is still alive, the boy decides to go after her in another world. Watch the trailer:

The Boy and the Heron arrives on Netflix about six months after its release in Brazilian theaters on February 22nd of this year. On the streaming platform, the animation will be available from October 7th. Check it out:
