Find out how to make the correct calculation for the barbecue, so you don’t miss anything
Barbecue is a dish that satisfies many palates. If it’s a weekend with family and friends together, even better. It’s very pleasant to stay in that review waiting for the meat to reach the sweet spot on the grill.
Whether it’s a family lunch or a birthday party, the barbecue is a tasty option and must be well planned so that everyone is satisfied. As a side dish it goes well with rice, farofa, vinaigrette sauce and mayonnaise.
Barbecue, how to calculate?
Calculation for meat*
If the barbecue has a short or medium duration, the recommended option is:
● From 350g to 400g of meat per person
For events of longer duration the ideal is to calculate:
● From 700g to 800g of meat per person
For the amount of meat for children simply divide the quantity in half.
For coal:
For a barbecue for 4 people, for example, 6 to 8 kg of charcoal will be needed.
This means that the more people, the more coal you will need.
Rice (raw) and farofa
To calculate the side dishes you also need to think about the number of guests.
● 50 g (1 cup of coffee) per person for each food: rice and farofa
Long-term events: 100 g per person for each item
BBQ Garlic Bread
Small to medium sized events must have 1 whole loaf per person
Long-term events: 2 whole loaves per person.
Quantity of drinks
The type of drink and glass influences the amount people will consume.
Events of small to medium duration
● Beer: 1.5 liters or 4 cans per person
● Non-alcoholic drink: 1 liter per person
● Water: ½ liter per person
Long-term events
● Beer: 2 liters per person
● Non-alcoholic drink: 1 liter per person
● Water: 1 liter per person
Number of cups:
● 2 to 3 glasses per person, for glass cups
● 4 to 5 glasses per person, for plastic cups
