Several daily factors interfere negatively and should be avoided to ensure healthy youth.
Just like lifelong healthy habits, technological advances expand the possibility of treatments that help delay disease aging of the skin. In the course of the treatment, however, there are still challenges: how does the patient understand the importance and include, in his routine, all the actions that help with rejuvenation.
The approach was present in the conversation circle Natural beautyheld this Saturday, 13th, during the Health and Wellness Summitpromoted by Estadao.
“You need to adopt skin care every day, like brushing your teeth. Have more of this healthy lifestyle habit every day, but without crazy, in a natural way,” he believes Ivana Pradodermatologist, member of the Brazilian Society of Dermatology and the American Academy of Dermatology, one of the speakers.
The skin is the largest organ in our body. In this way it controls the temperature and protects us from external aggressions. “It rebalances all of this to allow us to have better health. It is important to maintain the normal and natural integrity of the skin. Unfortunately, sometimes we don’t get adequate sleep, our diet is not the best and exercise is always forgotten. So , these are habits that we need to improve to have better skin quality,” he advises. Adriana Vilarinhodermatologist and speaker at the Saúde and Bem-Estar Summit.
“Both alcohol and sugar significantly worsen the absorption of nutrients. And, of course, they affect longevity. It’s not just a question of beautiful skin,” adds dermatologist Adriana.
What are the daily habits that damage our skin the most?
- Inadequate nutrition;
- Lack of sleep – must be restful for about 8 hours, a little less or more, depending on the person;
- Cigarette;
- Alcoholic beverages;
- Lack of hydration, especially consuming 1.5 liters to 2 liters of water per day;
- Excess sugar in the diet;
- Exposure to the sun at inappropriate times and without the use of sunscreen.
Demartologist Ivana also considers the necessary care when it comes to sun exposure. “People should always opt for a time before 10am and after 4pm. And sun protection should be a habit like brushing your teeth. It’s like this: you wake up, you apply sunscreen, even on cloudy days.”
According to her, when you are younger, having tanned skin may not cause as many problems. Over time, however, cancer cells multiply. “There is skin cancer which is the least aggressive, which are carcinomas, that red spot. But there is the darkest spot, which is melanoma. In short, sun protection is mandatory,” he explains.
Skin care during pregnancy
THE gestation It is a very special time, but attention is needed at this stage of life. “Since the pregnant woman is impregnated with the hormone, we know that the hormone ends up capturing more pigment. So, the possibility of developing melasma, pregnancy spots, is very high,” says the dermatologist. “This is why sunscreen should be used and reapplied at least halfway through the day. And when you’re on the beach, put on a hat. Today we have a range of sunscreens for oily skin, colored and colorless sunscreens and hats with sun protection”, adds Adriana.
The specialist also advises on the importance of a healthy diet and hydration to avoid stretch marks. “These last two generations have had a lot more stretch marks than previous generations. And I associate this a lot with diet because today there are diets with a lot of fast food and low protein content. There are people who don’t even gain much weight, but they get stretch marks,” she says.
According to the dermatologist, hydration is very important in this phase. “I always advise women to use an oil, at least twice a day, from the knees to the breasts, chest, hips, stomach and back. Applying a moisturizing cream that contains rosehip oil, with very hydrating substances, can help reduce the incidence of stretch marks.”
Menopause and use of collagen
Even during the menopauseSkin care is essential. “The most attention we need to pay is to provide more protein replacement above all collagen. Because this way you will have healthier, more vital and more compact skin”, advises dermatologist Ivana.
A good skin care routine is essential for healthy skin. “Today we know that a 50-year-old woman, if well cared for, becomes a 35-year-old woman. It’s all about basic care. A good skin care routine, good nutrition and adequate sleep. And we have effective procedures that they are non-invasive. They are nanoparticles. Collagen works well,” says Adriana.
According to Ivana, when a person undergoes a cosmetic procedure, they want to have a response from the body. “You have to have a positive collagen balance. So yes, we recommend collagen replacement as best as possible. Some people prefer it in powder form, others prefer it in pill form, but now we have seen the results with games, like if it were a jelly”, adds Ivana.
Skin treatments
For dermatologist Adriana, skin treatments regenerative therapy They should first consider their home care, sleep, diet and skin care routine. «So wash your face at least morning and evening, use sunscreen during the day and a moisturizing cream in the evening, use antioxidants. And more and more products are coming out that really have this regenerating action. Laser technologies, with biostimulators This is all part of the treatment,” he says.
Safety of treatment
Experts also say that when performing a cosmetic procedure, it is essential to look for safe places.
“It is easy to see the accreditation of the doctor, just consult the Brazilian Society of Dermatology, know if he is really a dermatologist and take all these precautions when performing the procedures, because often these procedures can turn into very serious complications, which can often lead to death. Look for serious people and dermatologists”, advises Adriana.
“To facilitate the consultationeven the regional Council of Medicine has what we call ‘RQE’, which is the registry of specialists”, added Ivana. It is therefore easy to know which doctor to look for”.
The doctor also commented that people with autoimmune diseases They should pay particular attention and, in general, undergo the treatment even accompanied by a rheumatologist, to be safe in carrying out the treatment.
“To have a skin firming response, we will produce inflammation, and theoretically, in people with an autoimmune disease we don’t want inflammation. On the other hand, there are some procedures, for example injecting some more hyaluronic acids pure, which can be done, but always collaborating with a rheumatologist”, reinforces dermatologist Ivana.
