Vibrator: The sex toy can help cure pelvic pain

Last week, Miess released the “Brazil: the country of sex“, research with the aim of mapping sexual behaviors at national level. Among the many results, it was possible to demonstrate that the vibrator – as well as the plugs – are the sex toys favorite of many people. Furthermore, the data reveals that only 12.9% of Brazilians do not use sexual devices during the H hour, i.e. there are few followers.

But, in addition to being an important tool for pleasure, both to revive the relationship and to surprise each other, the vibrator is also a great help for women suffering from pelvic pain, regardless of the reason. And who explains it is Letícia Nara, pelvic physiotherapist from Santa Casa de São Paulo.

According to the specialist, the vibrator can positively stimulate certain specific parts of the female body, improving the quality of life of these patients who suffer from some kind of discomfort in the pelvic region.

“There are many women who feel pain, or because they have it vaginismus [disfunção sexual que ocasiona dor durante a penetração]or from being very tense and stressed. So they end up putting all the tension on the trapezius, on the neck and even on the vagina “, explains the physiotherapist.

Letícia also comments that all of these conditions can cause pain and discomfort in women, on several occasions. From sexual intercourse and gynecological exams to common everyday situations, like sitting down. For the specialist, this is exactly where the correct use of the vibrator can relieve pain.

“During the pelvic physiotherapy therapies, we teach how to perform the perineal massage, how to breathe and relax properly. And the vibrator helps a lot, because, in addition to increasing body awareness and performing perineal massage, the woman can do the maintenance of the pelvic muscles at home, “says the physiotherapist.

If you are the type of person who has a “foot back” with the vibrator, the professional guarantees that it is taboo. “It would be the same as using a muscle massager on the legs, just like football players use. The vibrator can perform this function in the vaginal muscles,” says Letícia.

So, you already know, right? In addition to being a great toy to innovate in sex, the vibrator can also help you relieve those tensions. But be very careful! If you feel pelvic pain, the most important thing is to consult a doctor first, okay?
