The Fora de Série da Bráz Festival celebrates 150 years of Italian immigration to Brazil

Dishes from Fora de Série, from Bráz

Bráz brings the tenth edition of the Fora de Série festival in honor of 150 years of Italian immigration to Brazil. Between flavors inspired by traditions and fond memories, the festival menu sees the collaboration of the best pizza chef in Italy, according to 50 Top Pizza World, Diego Vitagliano.

Three flavors of pizza represent the immigrants who helped perpetuate the Italian tradition in Brazil: the Fasano family pizza is a tribute to Gero Fasano and contains tomato, basil and olive oil (R$ 110). In turn, Romano’s amatriciana pizza, which pays homage to Andrea Romano, an immigrant specialized in the sausage sector, made with tomato, fior di latte, Italian bacon and pecorino romano (R$ 139).

To conclude the triad of delights, the mother pizza is a tribute to the Mamas de San Vito, a group of women who participate in the Associação Beneficiente São Vito Mártir and perpetuate the tradition of the festival which has taken place in the Brás neighborhood since 1918. Its ingredients include artichoke cream, Neapolitan smoked provola, Roman artichokes and basil (R$ 139).

The menu also includes the starter Il articiofo terre nostri (R$64), with Roman artichokes, and the dessert Sfogliatelle riccia (R$39), a traditional Neapolitan dessert with dark chocolate. Two pastas round out the new menu offerings, including housemade semolina pasta with artisanal sausage ragù with tomato, black olives, Sicilian oregano, fior di latte and fennel (R$78) and fresh pasta filled with Roman artichokes, provolone smoked and mascarpone, finished with butter and aged balsamic (R $92).

Starting October 30, the month-long event takes place in all Bráz Pizzaria, Trattoria and Casa Bráz units in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Campinas.
