The date was created in 1995 during the first World Pasta Congress, held in Rome, Italy. The choice of the date was not random, as it coincides with the day of San Crispin, patron saint of bakers in the Catholic tradition.

Nido Restaurant
At Nido, a classic Italian restaurant located in Leblon, there is no shortage of options to celebrate National Pasta Day. One of these is spaghetti alla gricia (R$97), prepared by Venetian chef Rudy Bovo. The recipe uses pecorino romano, black pepper and bacon (a type of unsmoked Italian bacon made from pork cheek). Other options include: Tagliatelle with guinea fowl ragu (R$ 102), Italian pasta with guinea fowl sauce and Tagliolini, Pistachio, Guanciale and Orange (R$ 108).

Located inside the iconic Copacabana Palace, the restaurant is led by chef Nello Cassese, has a Michelin star since 2019 and serves dishes focused on Italian culture, with selected ingredients.
The venue is open Monday to Saturday from 7pm and serves traditional and vegan options on the menu (R$495). The Complete Experience tasting menu costs R$695 and the one served in 11 stages costs R$575.

Artigiano is the most legitimate representative of classic Emilia-Romagna cuisine in Rio de Janeiro and handcrafts more than 30 varieties of traditional pasta from the region. Fresh pasta, artisanal bread and desserts and wood-fired pizzas are the house specialities.
