Edu Guedes designed, in collaboration with chef Marcelo Magaldi, the menu of the gala dinner in honor of the 30 years of Ayrton Senna’s legacy, held on the evening of Wednesday the 30th at the Clube Atlético Monte Virgínia, in Sao Paulo. .
Accompanied by his daughter Maria Eduarda and his girlfriend Ana Hickmann, Edu was honored by the invitation extended by the Formula 1 driver’s sister.
“When I received Viviane Senna’s invitation, I wanted to know more about Senna’s habits. I noticed that in addition to the passion for engines, the choice of food is certainly the great example that unites us. Senna had a simple palate, just like me: rice, beans, steak and chips,” he said.
Edu said he and chef Marcelo Magaldi wanted to surprise everyone with the dinner menu, “just like he surprised us on the slopes. It was a privilege to honor him with my cuisine,” he added.
The menu served included a place setting with basket with mini breads, homemade breadsticks, aubergine tapenade with black olives, chèvre cream, foie gras terrine with pistachios and butter with fleur de sel and rosemary. Starter: salmon and prawn carpaccio with mini caper popcorn, avocado aioli and curly mustard sprouts. The main dish served was parmigiana risotto with filet mignon medallion in marsala and black truffle sauce. For dessert: choux cream de crème pâtisserie with vanilla pods, served with gianduia ice cream and red fruit syrup. Made your mouth water, didn’t it?
The event was attended by great personalities such as Xuxa, Galvão Bueno, Ivete Sangalo as well as important Formula 1 drivers such as Emerson Fittipaldi, Sebastian Vettel and Felipe Massa. The evening was also characterized by an auction of objects and experiences in support of the Ayrton Senna Institute.
“Yesterday was a truly special evening! In honor of our great champion Ayrton Senna, I was chosen by the family to develop a menu with chef Marcelo Magaldi. It was an unforgettable evening,” Edu said on social media.
