On November 3 at 8:30 p.m. on STS there will be a grand premiere of one of the country’s biggest island reality shows. In the new television project “Treasure Island. Signs of Destiny” 80 heroes are looking for treasures worth 10 million rubles. One of the participants, star pastry chef and TV presenter Marina Sinitskaya, shares her thoughts about the show and her fate.

I’m not afraid of surviving on the island. I have already gone through hardships, as I survive in the world of confectionery and show business. And I started as a fifteen-year-old girl in Chelyabinsk, I was a home pastry chef, I grew up in a culinary school, where they beat me on the hands, they said I was unfit, that nothing good would come from me. Today I sincerely consider myself the number one pastry chef in Russia.

I came to the STS project to win, I don’t want to settle for less and I hate being second. Just as I dreamed of being the best pastry chef in the country, I intend to be the first here: a lighter, a leader, a team captain and a winner. It will hurt me if I lose.

“The Island” is also an opportunity for me to be myself, to not listen to anyone and to relax, because I am always working and forgetting myself. I want to think about what I really want. I’m going to miss my daughter, but she said, “Mom, forget about me.” Everything will be fine.” She’s my best friend.

I believe I can easily survive in camping conditions. Look, I set the cake on fire. Am I not going to start a fire? To make a lot of money, I am willing to sleep on the floor, give up contact, live with people I don’t like and stay with them for a month on a desert island. I’m willing to send friends home if they aren’t motivated like me. It will hurt, but I’ll do it if I don’t see fire in my eyes. So I will say that victory is more important to me, I came for it.

I have been incredibly afraid of insects since childhood, even flies, butterflies, dragonflies, not to mention spiders, lizards and caterpillars. Anything that crawls, brrrr. It makes me tremble. And of course, it’s scary to face heights. I feel adrenaline when I climb a stepladder and put the icing on a three-meter cake, but I can’t imagine a situation where there is nothing under you, just an abyss.

I am passionate about work, I love my job and physical work. I was used to it since childhood. And in my work I like to sweat, get tired and do everything with my own hands. I’m a fan of the work. Yes, I rarely see my husband and daughter. For me, my customers come first. I can’t eat or sleep and I often hurt myself. Recently, for example, I made caramel glasses for Yana Rudkovskaya and received many burns.

Among my regular customers: Philip Kirkorov, with whom we are friends, Anna Khilkevich, Sergey Lazarev and many others. Everyone needs to be surprised by something, because these are people who have seen everything in the world, that’s why we make cakes with special effects. It’s not just a delicious dessert, we add show elements: our cakes fly away, explode, sparkle, smoke, even a person can come out.

I baked the largest cake in Russia, which was included in the Guinness Book of Records. The cake is shaped like a flag and measures twenty-four square meters. How was it? I brought together a team of around thirty people from different regions of the country and together we created this giant in several days. It was very difficult, because at one point this one and a half ton had to be dragged up to the second floor, where the presentation of the cake took place. We built a huge platform for me to climb on. They tied me up and held me down, meaning I was ready to bungee jump and fall upside down. I experienced all of this at work.
